My family is too lazy to haul a turkey home. We also don't like spending the entire morning and afternoon cleaning the bird, and my mom hates pushing pause on her favorite Korean Soap Operas to go to the kitchen to check to see if the darn thing has changed colors. More importantly, we hate eating burnt turkey. So here we go again, taking that risk and ordering turkey from Sam Woo (once again)

In addition to their delicious BBQ Duck, Sam Woo also offers great roast turkey, stuffed with delicious Yo Fan (sticky rice), for the Thanksgiving holiday! BUT It's always a risk ordering turkey from Sam Woo. A few years back, Sam Woo ruined my Thanksgiving! Their oven broke down! As a result,they were left with a bunch of angry screaming customers demanding their money back. (My mom included, along with a bunch of other LOUD and HUNGRY Taiwanese/Cantonese mothers.. SCARY SIGHT!) To compensate, they gave everyone two orders of soy sauce chicken instead. Like that really makes up for it. Freakin' soy sauce chicken, bland and boring! My sister almost cried. I hope I get turkey this year!

Level 3 Fashion Show

As an AmeriCorps member this year, I had the priveledge to work with a wondeful group of Kindergarteners and First Graders! Today was my last day with them. I was very sad when I had to say goodbye.
They surprised me with a very memorable gift, our class picture inside a beautiful velvet frame, and with the words.. "Thank You- Miss Amy"

I can't wait to have my own class!

I Am So Excited! I'm going to go take my very first Professional Make-up Class today! WhooHoo! I've been meaning to take lessons, however, I had the hardest time finding an artist/teacher! I figure, I might as well make use of my overflowing drawers of make-up and learn how to apply it professionally! Any volunteers to be my model?! =)

A few months ago, (see below picture)I was a model for Renee Lee, a professional makeup artist who's starting a new book project featuring asian girls and make up application. She's really talented and extremely creative!

Roller Coaster

I like to think of life as a constant emotional roller coaster. We have our "up" times, "down" times, and those in between moments where we're not completely sure what lies ahead. At any rate, I did hit some down time and was buried in cloudiness for awhile. I had moments when I wanted to pull my hair out because of immense frustration and uncertainty, and depressing nights when I cried myself to sleep.

Today, I have reached a more satisfying and brighter side of life. Looks like my roller car is moving up. Realistically, I know I can experience another fall at any moment. That's life! It's so unpredictable you never know what's going to happen. Worse, like the speed of a roller coaster, it moves so quickly!

I keep telling myself that everything that does happen (or does not happen) has a particular reason. Rocky down times are part of life. It only makes life more interesting. Plus, the feeling is great once we reach our "up times". We not only enjoy these happy times more, but we really learn to grasp and cherish these joyful and rewarding moments in life

It's only May in LA, but the temperature has already hit 95 degrees. It's going to be one hot tomale this summer! I went to visit USC today, and didn't think I'd be out in the sun for that long. Unfortunately, I was too caught up with exploring the beautiful campus, I didn't realize my arms were getting burnt. Now I have red shoulders and an oogly tank-top tan! It's time to purchase Coppertone!
